Digital Marketing & Google SEO for Doctors in Pune

Digital Marketing & Google SEO for Doctors in Pune

Pune has one of the most active doctor communities we work with. Patients search both by city and by area (Baner, Kothrud, Hinjewadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Viman Nagar), and IT-sector families research carefully before choosing.

At Click2Cure, we actively manage Google profiles for doctors across India, including Pune. Here is what works for doctors in Pune, with real results.

How patients in Pune find doctors

Patients search a speciality plus “near me” or plus their area. Working professionals book in evenings and weekends: accurate evening hours and WhatsApp links win a lot of calls.

What it takes to rank in Pune

  1. The right categories and 15–20 detailed services so Google matches you to the right searches.
  2. A perfect map pin, timings and holiday hours.
  3. 25+ real photos and 3–4 Google updates a week.
  4. A steady flow of genuine reviews, with a reply to each one.
  5. The same details everywhere online, which also helps AI tools recommend you (what is AEO?).

How Many Calls Can a Doctor Get from Google? Real Data from Our Clinics

How Many Calls Can a Doctor Get from Google? Real Data from Our Clinics

“How many patients will I actually get from Google?” It’s the most practical question a doctor can ask. Here is what Google’s own data shows for the profiles we actively manage.

The big picture

From April 2025 to August 2026, across a snapshot of our actively managed profiles:

  • 91,689+ calls from Google
  • 2.24 lakh+ direction requests
  • 3.3 lakh+ patient actions (calls, directions, website visits)
  • 32.5 lakh+ profile views

In August 2026 alone, our doctors received 7,805 calls from Google, our record month.

The average doctor

On average, a Click2Cure doctor gets about 460+ calls, 1,100+ direction requests and 17,000+ profile views a year from Google.

The top end

  • Dr Rahul Bhargava (ENT surgeon, Delhi): 521 calls from Google in a single month (Aug 26). 4,128 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.6★ by 403 patients.
  • Dr Saikat Saha (neurologist, Asansol): 19 → 227 direction requests a month in 15 months. 4,153 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.5★ by 135 patients.
  • Dr Vikas Jain (psychiatrist, New Delhi): 380 calls from Google in a single month (May 26). 3,871 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.5★ by 212 patients.
  • Dr Vyankatesh Pharande (eye specialist, Pune): 319 calls from Google in a single month (Aug 26). 3,036 calls from Google in the last 12 months.

The fastest growth

  • Dr Bajrang Singh (paediatrician, Azamgarh): 0 → 170 calls from Google a month in 16 months. 1,285 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 66 patients.
  • Dr Mamta Agrawal (gynaecologist, Delhi): 0 → 167 calls from Google a month in 3 months. 351 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 50 patients.
  • Dr Saurabh Talekar (orthopaedic surgeon, Mumbai): 1 → 158 calls from Google a month in 14 months. 1,060 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 125 patients.

What decides your number

  • Speciality demand: ortho, ENT, eye and paediatrics are searched heavily.
  • Competition in your area: smaller cities often grow faster.
  • Profile completeness: the 12 essentials.
  • Reviews and activity: steady, genuine, recent.

Do the maths

If Google brings you 60 calls a month and 1 in 3 becomes a patient, that’s 20 new patients a month, before procedures, follow-ups and family referrals.

See every story on our results page, or by speciality: ENT, paediatrics.

How to track your own calls

Open your Google Business Profile, go to Performance, and note calls, direction requests and website clicks each month. Ask reception to note “found us on Google” for new patients. Within 2–3 months you’ll know your real number, and whether it’s growing.

Why numbers differ between clinics

Two equally good doctors can see very different numbers because of speciality demand, distance from dense residential areas, competition and profile completeness. The only fair comparison is with your own previous months.

Frequently asked questions

How many calls does a doctor get from Google on average?

Across the profiles we manage, the average is about 460+ calls a year, plus 1,100+ direction requests.

What is a good number of calls from Google for a clinic?

It depends on speciality and city, but 50–150 calls a month is strong for most individual clinics; our top profiles get 300–500 in a month.

Do Google calls turn into patients?

Many do. Callers are usually ready to book. Tracking how many callers become patients helps you see your real return.

SEO & Google Growth for Eye Specialists and Eye Hospitals

SEO & Google Growth for Eye Specialists and Eye Hospitals

Eye care is highly local and highly trust-driven. Patients search “eye hospital near me” (786 times in one month across our profiles) and then compare ratings and photos before booking a cataract check or a LASIK consultation. Several of our strongest volume results come from eye hospitals.

This page explains how eye specialists in India can get more patients from Google in 2026: what patients search, what makes a eye specialist’s profile rank, and what results look like, with real numbers from the doctors we manage.

What patients search for

These are the kinds of searches that bring patients to eye specialists (replace [city] with yours):

  • eye hospital near me
  • eye doctor near me
  • eye clinic near me
  • cataract surgery in [city]
  • LASIK cost in [city]
  • best eye specialist in [city]
  • kids eye doctor

Most searches combine a need with a location. Patients rarely search a doctor’s name first; they discover you. Read more in what Indian patients really search.

What’s different about Google for eye specialists

  • Procedure-led searches. Cataract, LASIK, glaucoma and retina care are searched by name and carry high value.
  • Older patients, younger searchers. Often a son or daughter searches for a parent’s cataract surgery. Clear services and timings help them decide quickly.
  • Optical and clinic listings. If you run an optical store too, keep it clearly structured so Google doesn’t confuse the two.
  • World Sight Day and diabetes months are natural content moments.

The right categories

Categories tell Google what you are. Suggested setup: Eye care clinic or Ophthalmologist (primary), Eye hospital, LASIK surgeon (if applicable), Optician (only if you have an optical store). Only add categories for services you actually provide; wrong categories can hurt.

Services to list, each with a 2–3 line explanation

  • Cataract surgery
  • LASIK and refractive surgery
  • Glaucoma treatment
  • Retina and diabetic eye care
  • Squint treatment
  • Paediatric eye care
  • Dry eye treatment
  • Contact lens clinic
  • Comprehensive eye check-up
  • Eye injury care

Detailed services are one of the most underused ranking levers. In our audits, many profiles listed only a few services or none at all.

Google updates that work

Post 3–4 short updates a week. Ideas that work well for eye specialists:

  • World Sight Day: protect your eyesight
  • Cataract: signs your vision is getting cloudy
  • Screen time and dry eyes: the 20-20-20 rule
  • Diabetes and your eyes
  • Firecracker eye injuries: first aid

Reviews: how to ask the right way

Ask after the post-operative check when the patient sees clearly again: “If your vision is better today, a short Google review helps others choose confidently.” Family members often write on behalf of elderly patients; that is fine if it reflects a real visit.

Aim for 2–3 genuine reviews a day, not a sudden burst. Never offer discounts or ask staff or family to review. See our guide on getting Google reviews ethically.

Real results: eye specialists we work with

  • Eye-Plus Eye Care (eye specialist, Gurugram): 33 → 362 patient actions a month in 4 months. 361 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 5.0★ by 22 patients.
  • Dr Basheer (eye specialist, Vijayawada): 78 → 261 direction requests a month in 10 months. 834 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 322 patients.
  • Dr Jayesh Sangani (eye specialist, Surat): 52 → 173 calls from Google a month in 16 months. 1,459 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 997 patients.
  • Dr Vyankatesh Pharande (eye specialist, Pune): 319 calls from Google in a single month (Aug 26). 3,036 calls from Google in the last 12 months.

Across all the profiles we actively manage, our doctors received 91,689+ calls and 2.24 lakh+ direction requests from Google (April 2025 – August 2026). See more on our results page.

Your 5-step start

  1. Check your primary category and add the right supporting ones.
  2. Add 10–15 services with short explanations.
  3. Upload 10 real photos: signboard, reception, rooms, team.
  4. Reply to every review from the last 3 months.
  5. Start a daily review routine at reception.

For the full picture, read the complete guide to SEO for doctors in India and our Google Maps ranking checklist.

Mistakes we often see in eye care profiles

  • Optical store and eye clinic mixed in one confusing profile.
  • Cataract and LASIK not listed as separate services.
  • No photos of diagnostic equipment, which builds strong trust in eye care.

Website pages every eye hospital needs

Cataract surgery, LASIK, glaucoma, retina and diabetic eye care, and paediatric eye care. Include recovery, who is a good candidate, and FAQs. Patients comparing LASIK clinics read these pages carefully.

Frequently asked questions

How can an eye hospital get more patients from Google?

Use the right primary category, add cataract, LASIK, glaucoma and other procedures as services, keep timings accurate, post regularly and collect reviews that mention the treatment.

Should an eye hospital and optical store have separate listings?

If they operate as separate businesses with separate entrances or staff, separate profiles can make sense. Otherwise, keep one clear profile.

What searches do eye patients use most?

“Eye hospital near me”, “eye doctor near me” and procedure searches like cataract surgery and LASIK are among the most common.

Why Your Clinic Isn’t Showing on Google (and 9 Fixes)

Why Your Clinic Isn’t Showing on Google (and 9 Fixes)

You search your speciality near your clinic, and your name is nowhere. It’s one of the most common worries we hear from doctors. Here are the 9 reasons we find most often, and what to do about each.

1. The profile isn’t verified

Unverified profiles are held back. Complete verification (video, phone or other method Google offers) before anything else.

2. Wrong primary category

“Doctor” or “Clinic” is too broad. Choose the most specific one: “Orthopaedic surgeon”, “Dentist”, “Paediatrician”.

3. Missing supporting categories

Nearly half the profiles we audit are missing useful supporting categories.

4. No services, or no explanations

Add 15–20 services with 2–3 lines each. Google uses them to match searches.

5. Too few photos, or old ones

60% had too few photos; 81% hadn’t added one in months.

6. Few or old reviews

No recent reviews signals an inactive clinic. Build a steady routine (here’s how).

7. No activity

No posts, no replies, no updates. Post 3–4 times a week.

8. Google changed your details

58% of profiles had Google’s suggested edits pending, sometimes wrong timings or categories. Review them regularly.

9. You’re searching from too far away

Distance matters. Check from your clinic’s area, not your home across the city.

Proof it can change

  • Dr Mamta Agrawal (gynaecologist, Delhi): 0 → 167 calls from Google a month in 3 months. 351 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 50 patients.
  • Dr Vaishali Jain (gynaecologist, Indore): 5 → 126 calls from Google a month in 2 months. 841 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 123 patients.
  • Dr Devraj (multispeciality hospital, Bangalore): 6 → 405 patient actions a month in 5 months. 359 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 5.0★ by 106 patients.

How long does it take? See our honest timeline. Then follow the Google Maps checklist.

Your 30-minute fix-it plan

  1. Confirm the profile is verified and details are correct.
  2. Change the primary category to your specific speciality.
  3. Add 10 services with short explanations.
  4. Upload 10 real photos.
  5. Reply to all reviews from the last 3 months.
  6. Post one helpful update.

When to get help

If your profile is suspended, has duplicate listings, or shows someone else’s details, don’t keep editing blindly. Repeated changes can make things worse. Get a proper audit first.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my clinic not showing on Google Maps?

The most common reasons are an unverified profile, a broad category, missing services, few photos or reviews, no recent activity, or wrong details from suggested edits.

How do I check my clinic’s ranking correctly?

Search from your clinic’s area, on a phone, using the words patients use, like your speciality plus “near me”.

How soon will my clinic show after fixing these?

Basic fixes can show changes within weeks; steady ranking usually builds over 2–6 months.

Case study, Google Business Profile

Dr Bajrang Singh, paediatrician in Azamgarh: 0 → 170 calls from Google a month in 16 months

Dr Bajrang Singh, a paediatrician in Azamgarh, is one of the doctors whose Google profile Click2Cure actively manages. This is their story in real numbers, from Google’s own performance data.

0 → 170 calls from Google a month in 16 months

1,285 calls and 1,263 direction requests from Google in the last 12 months.

The starting point

Like most doctors we meet, the practice was already trusted offline. But on Google, the profile was not doing its job: patients searching for a paediatrician nearby were finding other clinics first.

What Click2Cure did

  • A complete 12-point profile audit
  • Categories matched to the speciality, and detailed services with patient-friendly explanations
  • Accurate timings, holiday hours and links
  • Regular Google updates planned around what local patients search
  • A simple, ethical review routine at the clinic
  • Monthly reports and continuous fine-tuning

The results, month by month

  • April 2025: 0 calls
  • December 2025: 85 calls
  • August 2026: 170 calls

Today the profile holds a 4.8★ rating from 66 reviews.

What other doctors can learn

  1. Patients search for a need, not a name. Be the clinic Google shows for that need.
  2. Consistency beats one-time fixes: updates, photos and replies every month.
  3. Reviews compound. A steady, genuine flow matters more than a sudden burst.

More paediatrician guidance: see our speciality guides and all results. Also read how long local SEO takes.

Shared with the doctor’s permission.

What patients searched to find this clinic

Google’s own search data shows the kinds of searches that brought patients here, generic needs, not the doctor’s name: “children hospital azamgarh”, “best pediatrician in azamgarh”, “azamgarh children hospital”. That is exactly the opportunity every clinic has.

Why it worked

Nothing here was a trick. The profile was made complete, accurate and active, and kept that way every month. Patients who were already searching simply started finding this clinic first.

SEO & Google Growth for Gynaecologists

SEO & Google Growth for Gynaecologists

Women choosing a gynaecologist look for more than proximity. They look for trust, privacy and warmth, and they read reviews carefully. At the same time, the searches are frequent: “gynecologist near me” and “gynaecologist near me” together showed our doctors’ profiles more than 1,000 times in a single month.

This page explains how gynaecologists in India can get more patients from Google in 2026: what patients search, what makes a gynaecologist’s profile rank, and what results look like, with real numbers from the doctors we manage.

What patients search for

These are the kinds of searches that bring patients to gynaecologists (replace [city] with yours):

  • gynecologist near me
  • gynaecologist near me
  • lady doctor near me
  • maternity hospital near me
  • normal delivery hospital in [city]
  • PCOS treatment
  • pregnancy doctor near me

Most searches combine a need with a location. Patients rarely search a doctor’s name first; they discover you. Read more in what Indian patients really search.

What’s different about Google for gynaecologists

  • Two spellings, one patient. Patients type both “gynecologist” and “gynaecologist”. Use both naturally across your description and posts.
  • “Lady doctor” is a real search. Many women specifically want a female doctor; mention it if it applies.
  • Life-stage services. Pregnancy care, normal delivery, PCOS, infertility, menopause and cancer screening are each searched separately.
  • Privacy-sensitive reviews. Many patients hesitate to review. A gentle, private request after a happy outcome (e.g. discharge after delivery) works best.

The right categories

Categories tell Google what you are. Suggested setup: Obstetrician-gynaecologist (primary), Maternity centre, Women’s health clinic, Fertility clinic (only if offered). Only add categories for services you actually provide; wrong categories can hurt.

Services to list, each with a 2–3 line explanation

  • Pregnancy care (antenatal check-ups)
  • Normal delivery
  • C-section
  • PCOS treatment
  • Infertility evaluation
  • Laparoscopic gynaecology surgery
  • Pap smear and cervical screening
  • Menopause care
  • Contraception advice
  • High-risk pregnancy care

Detailed services are one of the most underused ranking levers. In our audits, many profiles listed only a few services or none at all.

Google updates that work

Post 3–4 short updates a week. Ideas that work well for gynaecologists:

  • Irregular periods: when to see a gynaecologist
  • PCOS: signs, tests and lifestyle changes
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month: self-exam guide
  • Gestational diabetes explained
  • Pre-conception check-up checklist

Reviews: how to ask the right way

The best moment is at discharge after a delivery or at the final follow-up: “Your experience could reassure another mother. A short Google review would mean a lot.” Never pressure; privacy comes first.

Aim for 2–3 genuine reviews a day, not a sudden burst. Never offer discounts or ask staff or family to review. See our guide on getting Google reviews ethically.

Real results: gynaecologists we work with

  • Dr Mamta Agrawal (gynaecologist, Delhi): 0 → 167 calls from Google a month in 3 months. 351 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 50 patients.
  • Dr Vaishali Jain (gynaecologist, Indore): 5 → 126 calls from Google a month in 2 months. 841 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 123 patients.
  • Dr Madhu Maheshwari (gynaecologist, Varanasi): 1,253 patient actions in a single month (Dec 25). 519 calls from Google in the last 12 months.
  • Dr Tejaswi Kamble (gynaecologist, Mumbai): 15 → 92 patient actions a month in 3 months. 89 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 76 patients.

Mistakes we often see in gynaecology profiles

  • Only one spelling used, missing half the searches.
  • Maternity services not listed separately (normal delivery, C-section, antenatal care).
  • No photos of the labour room, NICU tie-up or ward, which expecting parents want to see.

Website pages every gynaecology practice needs

Pregnancy care, normal delivery, PCOS, infertility, laparoscopic surgery and menopause. Warm, reassuring language matters as much as medical accuracy. FAQs like “Is normal delivery possible after a C-section?” are exactly what patients and AI tools look for.

Frequently asked questions

How can a gynaecologist get more patients from Google?

Use “Obstetrician-gynaecologist” as the primary category, list pregnancy, delivery, PCOS and other services separately, use both spellings naturally, show real clinic photos and build genuine reviews gently.

Does being a female doctor matter on Google?

Many patients search “lady doctor near me”. If it applies, mentioning it in your description helps you appear for those searches.

Can a maternity hospital rank for “normal delivery”?

Yes. Add it as a service with a clear explanation, post about it regularly, and encourage happy mothers to mention it in reviews.

Reviews are the single biggest trust signal on Google, for patients and for Google’s ranking. Yet most doctors get far fewer reviews than their patient numbers deserve, simply because nobody asks. Here is a simple, ethical system that works.

Why reviews matter so much

  • Patients compare ratings and review counts before calling.
  • Recent reviews tell Google your clinic is active and trusted.
  • Reviews that mention treatments (“my knee replacement”) help you appear for those searches, and help AI tools understand what you are good at.

The 4-step review routine

  1. Ask at the right moment: after a good consultation, a painless procedure, or visible improvement. “A short Google review really helps other patients find us.”
  2. Send the link the same day on WhatsApp. Reception keeps a ready message with your direct review link.
  3. Keep a QR code at the reception desk for patients who prefer to do it right away.
  4. Gently suggest mentioning the treatment, but never write it for them.

The target: steady, not sudden

Aim for 2–3 genuine reviews a day, around 60–90 a month. A sudden spike of 50 reviews in a week looks unnatural and can trigger filtering.

What never to do

  • No fake or dummy reviews.
  • No reviews from staff, family or friends.
  • No discounts, gifts or free services in return.
  • No review “packages” from agencies.

Google detects these patterns and can remove reviews or suspend a profile.

Reply to every review

80% of the doctor profiles we audited had most recent reviews unanswered. A short, warm reply takes 30 seconds: “Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re glad you’re feeling better. Wishing you good health, Dr ___.” Never share medical details in a reply.

What steady reviews do

  • Dr Jayesh Sangani (eye specialist, Surat): 52 → 173 calls from Google a month in 16 months. 1,459 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 997 patients.
  • Dr Nitin Surana (paediatrician, Nashik): 249 calls from Google in a single month (Aug 26). 2,183 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.8★ by 620 patients.
  • Dr Hardik Vaghela (orthopaedic surgeon, Gandhinagar): 236 calls from Google in a single month (Aug 26). 2,043 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 743 patients.

Ready-to-use WhatsApp message for reception

“Thank you for visiting [Clinic name] today. If you had a good experience, a short Google review really helps other patients find us: [review link]. Wishing you good health!”

How to find your review link

Open your Google Business Profile, tap “Ask for reviews”, and copy the link. Save it as a quick reply in WhatsApp Business so reception can send it in one tap.

Frequently asked questions

How many Google reviews should a doctor get per month?

A steady 60–90 genuine reviews a month (2–3 a day) is a healthy, natural pace for most clinics.

Can doctors offer discounts for reviews?

No. Incentivised reviews go against Google’s policies and can lead to review removal or profile suspension.

Should doctors reply to negative reviews?

Yes, calmly and briefly, without sharing any medical details. Invite the patient to contact the clinic directly.

SEO & Google Growth for Orthopaedic Surgeons

SEO & Google Growth for Orthopaedic Surgeons

Orthopaedics is the single biggest search category we see. In August 2026, “orthopedic doctor near me” alone showed our doctors’ profiles 2,120 times, more than any other search. Patients with knee pain, back pain or a fresh fracture want the nearest trusted specialist, now. That urgency makes Google Maps the most important front door for an ortho practice.

This page explains how orthopaedic surgeons in India can get more patients from Google in 2026: what patients search, what makes a orthopaedic surgeon’s profile rank, and what results look like, with real numbers from the doctors we manage.

What patients search for

These are the kinds of searches that bring patients to orthopaedic surgeons (replace [city] with yours):

  • orthopedic doctor near me
  • ortho doctor near me
  • haddi ka doctor
  • knee replacement surgeon in [city]
  • back pain doctor near me
  • fracture clinic near me
  • sports injury doctor

Most searches combine a need with a location. Patients rarely search a doctor’s name first; they discover you. Read more in what Indian patients really search.

What’s different about Google for orthopaedic surgeons

  • Urgent + local. Fractures and sprains send patients straight to Maps. Directions requests are often as important as calls; make sure your pin and entrance are accurate.
  • Hindi and regional searches matter. “Haddi ka doctor” is a real, frequent search. Mention it naturally in your description and posts.
  • Procedure searches carry high value. Knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy and spine surgery each deserve a detailed service entry.
  • Sports and seasonal peaks. Winter joint stiffness, festival dance injuries (garba) and cricket season all create content opportunities.

The right categories

Categories tell Google what you are. Suggested setup: Orthopaedic surgeon (primary), Orthopaedic clinic, Sports medicine clinic, Physiotherapy centre (only if on-site), Spine specialist (if applicable). Only add categories for services you actually provide; wrong categories can hurt.

Services to list, each with a 2–3 line explanation

  • Knee replacement
  • Hip replacement
  • ACL reconstruction
  • Arthroscopy (knee and shoulder)
  • Fracture and trauma care
  • Sports injury treatment
  • Back and neck pain treatment
  • Frozen shoulder treatment
  • PRP injections
  • Osteoporosis care

Detailed services are one of the most underused ranking levers. In our audits, many profiles listed only a few services or none at all.

Google updates that work

Post 3–4 short updates a week. Ideas that work well for orthopaedic surgeons:

  • Knee pain during Navratri garba? 5 tips
  • ACL tear: 4 signs not to ignore
  • Haddi ka doctor kab dikhana chahiye?
  • Winter joint stiffness: morning stretches

Reviews: how to ask the right way

Ask at the follow-up visit when the patient is walking better: “Your recovery could help someone nervous about surgery. Would you share a short Google review?” Reviews that say “ACL surgery” or “knee replacement” help you rank for those searches.

Aim for 2–3 genuine reviews a day, not a sudden burst. Never offer discounts or ask staff or family to review. See our guide on getting Google reviews ethically.

Real results: orthopaedic surgeons we work with

  • Dr Saurabh Talekar (orthopaedic surgeon, Mumbai):
  • 1 → 158 calls from Google a month in 14 months. 1,060 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 125 patients.
  • Dr Guruditta Khurana (orthopaedic surgeon, Gurugram):
  •  144 → 501 patient actions a month in 15 months. 857 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 4.9★ by 153 patients.
  • Dr Mohit Singh (orthopaedic surgeon, Lucknow):
  • 43 → 149 calls from Google a month in 13 months. 1,195 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 5.0★ by 288 patients.
  • Dr Aditya Tripathi (orthopaedic surgeon, Bhopal):
  • 0 → 72 calls from Google a month in 7 months. 290 calls from Google in the last 12 months, rated 5.0★ by 83 patients.

Mistakes we often see in ortho profiles

  • Primary category set to “Doctor” or “Hospital” instead of “Orthopaedic surgeon”.
  • No procedure services, so “knee replacement surgeon” searches never match.
  • A map pin at the building gate instead of the clinic entrance, which frustrates patients with injuries.

Website pages every ortho practice needs

Knee replacement, hip replacement, ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, spine and fracture care. Each page should cover symptoms, when surgery is needed, recovery timeline and FAQs. Recovery timelines are among the most searched ortho questions.

What Indian Patients Really Search: 91,500 Searches Analysed

What Indian Patients Really Search: 91,500 Searches Analysed

In August 2026, the Google profiles of doctors we manage appeared in more than 91,500 searches. We looked at what patients actually typed. The results should change how every doctor thinks about their online presence.

Finding 1: Patients search for a need, not a name

The most common searches were generic, not doctor names:

  • “orthopedic doctor near me”: 2,120 times in one month
  • “ent doctor near me”: 910
  • “eye hospital near me”: 786
  • “pediatrician near me”: 568
  • “gynecologist near me”: 543, plus 480 for “gynaecologist near me”
  • “dermatologist near me”: 492
  • “general physician near me”: 362
  • “psychiatrist near me”: 293

These patients have not decided on a doctor yet. They are choosing from whoever Google shows. That is the biggest opportunity for any clinic.

Finding 2: “Near me” rules

Among the top searches for our doctors, more than 12,500 contained “near me”. Patients want someone close, open, and trustworthy, and they decide from the map.

Finding 3: Spelling and language vary

Patients type “gynecologist” and “gynaecologist”, “ortho doctor” and “orthopedic doctor”, and even Hindi terms like “haddi ka doctor”. A good profile uses these variations naturally.

Finding 4: City + “best” is common

Searches like “best cardiologist in meerut” (279), “best neurologist in asansol” (223) and “best orthopedic doctor in lucknow” (216) show patients comparing quality within their city. Ratings and review counts decide who they call.

Finding 5: Smaller cities search just as much

Many of the strongest searches came from tier-2 and tier-3 cities, where competition on Google is lower. Read why tier-2 city doctors are winning.

What this means for your clinic

  1. Your category and services must match need-based searches.
  2. Your map pin, timings and photos must win the “near me” comparison.
  3. Your description and posts should use the words patients use, including Hindi or regional terms.
  4. Your reviews decide the “best in [city]” comparison.

Start with our Google Maps ranking checklist, and see how this plays out for orthopaedic doctors.

How to use these insights in your profile

Open your own Google Business Profile performance section and look at “Searches that found you”. Compare it with the patterns above. If patients find you mostly by your name, you are relying on people who already know you. The growth opportunity is in the generic searches: your speciality plus “near me”, plus your area, plus common symptoms.

Write the way patients speak

Patients don’t search “otorhinolaryngologist”; they search “ENT doctor near me” or “ear pain doctor”. They don’t search “arthroplasty”; they search “knee replacement”. Use patient language in your description, services and posts, and add medical terms alongside for credibility.
